These terms apply when you book or use YUX Studio at 14917 Oxnard St, Van Nuys, CA 91411. Booking the studio means you accept them. If you booked through Peerspace, that platform’s terms apply to the transaction as well; where the two differ on payment and cancellation, the platform’s terms govern the money and these terms govern use of the space.

Booking and payment

• Minimum booking is 2 hours.
• A 50% non-refundable deposit confirms your reservation. The balance is due before your session.
• Rates are $40/hr for 1–5 people and $60/hr for 6–12 people, 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM.
• Hours booked between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM are charged at the night rate — double the standard rate.
• Your booked time includes setup and pack-down. Please plan for it.

Cancellation and changes

• Cancel 72 or more hours before your start time and your deposit transfers to a new date, subject to availability.
• Within 72 hours the deposit is non-refundable.
• Refunds are issued only if YUX Studio cancels your reservation.
• If we have to cancel for reasons beyond our control — utility failure, flooding, fire, an order from authorities — we will offer a new date or a full refund of what you paid. That is the limit of our liability in those circumstances.

Overtime

Staying past your booked time is subject to availability and charged at 1.5× the standard hourly rate, billed in 30-minute increments. If another booking follows yours, you must vacate on time.

Capacity and use of the space

• Maximum occupancy is 12 people, including crew, guests and children. This is a fire-safety limit and is not negotiable.
• Use the studio only for what you booked it for. Tell us in advance if you are filming commercially, running a ticketed event, or doing anything higher-risk.
• No subletting, and no reselling your booked hours to someone else.
• Clean shoes only on the floor. No street shoes, no food or drink other than water in the main room, no glass.
• No smoking, vaping, open flame, haze machines, pyrotechnics or confetti without written approval.
• No drugs. Alcohol only with prior written approval, and never for an event with minors present.
• Nothing may be nailed, screwed, taped or adhered to walls, mirrors or floors without approval.

Aerial rigging

Aerial hooks are installed and available. Aerial work is inherently high-risk. You are responsible for your own equipment, rigging competence and spotting, and for using crash mats appropriate to your discipline. Do not exceed the rated load of any point. If you are unsure of the rating, ask before you rig.

Noise and neighbours

The studio sits in a shared building. Keep doors closed while music is playing, keep volume reasonable after 10:00 PM, and keep noise down in the parking area and walkways at night.

Condition, damage and lost property

• Leave the space as you found it. Remove your own rubbish and return equipment to where it was.
• You are responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing anything damaged during your booking, whether by you, your crew or your guests.
• Excessive mess may incur a cleaning fee.
• YUX Studio is not responsible for personal property left behind, lost or stolen.

Insurance

Personal rehearsals and standard rentals need no insurance. Commercial productions, large events and higher-risk activities must provide General Liability insurance naming YUX Studio as Additional Insured, with a certificate supplied before the booking date.

Assumption of risk and liability

Dance, fitness, aerial and production work carry a risk of injury. By using the studio you accept that you use the space and equipment at your own risk, and you are responsible for injury, damage or loss arising from your activity, your crew or your guests. Every renter and participant may be asked to sign a liability waiver.

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, YUX Studio’s total liability in connection with any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Minors

Anyone under 18 must be booked and supervised by a parent, guardian or responsible adult who remains on site for the whole session.

Access and right of refusal

YUX Studio may enter the space during your booking for safety or maintenance, and may end a booking without refund if these terms are broken, if occupancy is exceeded, or if anyone’s behaviour puts people or the property at risk. We may decline or cancel a booking that misrepresents its purpose.

Content you create

Photos and video you shoot in the studio are yours. YUX Studio claims no rights in them. Separately, we may photograph or film the space and our own classes and events — see the Privacy Policy for how to opt out of appearing.

This website

Content on this site is provided for information. Rates, availability and specifications may change; the figures shown on the booking platform at the time you book are the ones that apply. Text, photography and the YUX name and logo belong to YUX Studio and may not be reproduced without permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Los Angeles County.
